These were amazingly easy to make and they are wonderful!!! Here is the recipe…

Line a 9 x 9 pan with parchment paper.  In a heavy bottom saucepan combine all of the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup castor or white sugar
  • 1 cup Treacle or golden syrup
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 6 TBSP butter
  • 2 tsp sea salt

Mix all ingredients over medium heat until all is melted and well combined.  Clip on a candy thermometer and heat to hard ball stage stirring occasionally.  Pour into prepared pan and sit on a wire rack to cool.  When cool to the touch but still pliable, turn out an cut into 1 inch squares with a sharp buttered knife.  Separate the squares where they don’t touch (on the parchment paper) and allow them to cool completely. Wrap individually in waxed paper.
