Spring has sprung,
The grass is green,
Hear the little birdies sing?
Hey! It’s that time again! I told myself I would do a giveaway every month this year so, it’s time for April’s Giveaway! This one will be pretty great! Not only will there be an apron made by me, but THREE other goodies…and as usual they will be some of my favorite things!! I will give you a few little hints along the way this week. For today, I will just give you a little peek at the apron fabric.
Spring is all about GREEN…and I have had this fabric a long time and LOVE it. It’s just one of those pieces I have just not gotten around to, you know? So now I have to! It’s a nice middle weight fabric that will make a beautiful apron for one of you!
Now here’s the skinny on the giveaway:
- You have to share the love. The more the merrier. Yeah, yeah, I know you think it cuts into your chances of winning but come one, friends share! So if you don’t have a blog, email your friends and tell them to pop over here.
- You have to leave a comment. And come one ladies, not just a “Hey, enter my name.” Tell me a bit about yourself, about what Spring is bringing your way and if you do have a blog, LEAVE a link so the other readers and I can find you!
- There will be 4 items (think green, spring, books, flowers, gardening…hint hint!) in this giveaway and each item will be “discussed” on a different day so…if you leave a comment on every post associated with this giveaway (4 posts) then you will be entered each day! So you can up your chances of winning!
- The winner’s name will be drawn from the now VERY famous mason jar on Monday April 13th.
Good Luck everyone! And here is you a button to post on your blog or attach to an email!
Just right click on it and save!
If I have left anything out, I will catch you tomorrow!
Spring is bringing so many good things to me this year. It is giving me a fresh start with a new move, a new home soon, and the hopes of a new job.
The children are loving the sunshine and are now big enough to go out in it and play. It reminds me that everything is new and growing and second chances are awesome! 🙂
This Spring for me is a fresh start!!
hugs
Jessie-CRsHelpmeet@MJFarm
Best wishes for all your new starts!
I love Spring, because the sun is getting warmer, the temps climb, lambs are being born, flowers grow and bulbs come up.
I love Spring because the winter came to an end and a new Summer is around the corner.
I love Spring because most people seem happier when the sun is out.
I love Spring because I am feeling happier too 🙂
Marian, I can really relate to your feeling happier. I am one of those lucky people who doesn’t suffer greatly with Spring allergies, mine are mostly food related but I do suffer with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). As much as I love the down time of winter, I tend to really get blue before it is over. I NEED sunshine!!!
I love spring and I love spring green! We got married on April 14th and our colors were spring green and yellow and my bridesmaids all carried big bunches of daffodils. Right now though, I have been spending this spring stalking my tulips. A large crop of them are growing and I’m ridiculously eager for them to bloom!
I’m still waiting for spring here in Colorado. April is our 2nd snowiest month and we received about 6 inches of snow last night. So our mantra around here is “April snow, makes things grow!” Our seeds are planted in the cold frame for those sunny days and I’m itching to get my hands dirty! My sewing machine has been getting quite the workout lately, which I love. I’m excited to work on some summer clothes next. What a great season of hope! I posted your giveaway on my blog, tinkerfrog.blogspot.com. Thanks for the chance!
Spring is my favorite time of the year, I can shed the jacket and heavy clothing and start walking around without freezing! My flowers start to bloom and theres even more BBQ!
Marisa
Ah Spring! My daffodils and crocus are in bloom, the grass is green, and my redbud tree is looking glorious with the deep pink/purple flowers.
My birdfeeders are filled with yellow finches, common finches, cardinals, and yes even squirrels(grrrrrr!). The mourning doves are below the feeders, and dine on what the other birds dump on the ground.
I have my raised veggie garden filled with newborn plants: lettuce, spinach, brussel sprouts, peas, cabbage, and radishes.
I love being able to sit outside and listen to the Springtime Serenade of the birds, and share a “Hello!” with folks as they walk down the street. Everyone seems friendlier now that the days are longer and warmer 🙂
Well, green is my favprite color, so please put my name in the jar!! I love Spring. It is blooming all over here in Georgia and despite the fact that there is pollen all over the place, it is beautiful. 🙂
This spring is so exciting and new for me- exactly one year ago I wasn’t sure I was going to be alive to see this spring.(blood clot in the lung)
This spring, I’m building my chicken coop- I can have four hens in the city, planning my veggie garden and my daughters high school graduation. So many projects not enough time at my sewing machine! I have Tulips popping up and showing us that spring is around the corner- snow is forcasted for Sunday-it shouldn’t stay around long- whew!
Thank you for doing this wonderful give away and sharing your talents and love with us!
xoxo-Lori
That fabric is fabulous! What a great choice! (Don’t enter me!)

I am starting an herb garden this year. I’d also like to have my hubby build me a box garden. Next month starts the local farmersmarket and I am SO excited for that.
I’m itching to complete some UFO’s and start some new projects.
Green is the new Black!!!!
this spring has meant new opportunities and people to me. I entered the Flirty Apron swap for the first time, received a wonderful apron which is getting a workout already helping with cookies, and have made some online friends to talk sewing with. could life be better?
I am going the next step in my online workings education and will put your link on my blog. (geez, it sounds so cool to be able to say that!) thanks Tara for all your help with everything else….
I look forward to spring every year! It means nicer weather for spending days outside with my daughters. We have been spending hours outside on the swing set, having picnics, blowing bubbles, working in the yard, etc.
This year spring means 144 baby tomato starts – even though it snowed the last 3 days out of 4, the tomato seedlings don’t know that and are optimistically growing away. Last year it snowed the last week of March too, this year the promise of plants and the reminder of growth and renewal has helped me to look ahead.
Spring is springing!!
Amy Grace – graciegreeneyes@mjf
Thanks for the great giveaway! Looking forward to blossoming trees and sweet birdies come spring!
I love spring. The tulips and the daffodils blooming make me smile. I have pulled out all my McCoy and Shawnee flower pots and will make a beautiful tableau to represent spring. Not to mention my “bunny tree” to represent Easter. A picture of the “bunny tree” is found on my blog.
Hi Susan, so very generous of you! I have posted about it on my blog and left a link too. Spring is one of my favourite seasons. I just love to watch my gardens come alive again after the cold winter passed and I love to listen to the birds as they prepare for nesting. It seems their song is more beautiful at this time of year than at any other! All seems to be alive and fresh and full of joy. The perfect time for new beginnings and for wonderful giveways such as yours! Please enter my name!

I look forward to spring every year! It means nicer weather for spending days outside with my daughters. We have been spending hours outside on the swing set, having picnics, blowing bubbles, working in the yard, etc.
Oops…forgot to say great post! Looking forward to your next one.
Oh Happy Spring! The ground is still frozen but the snow is gone, the April showers have started to wash away the dust and grime. I can see the tips of my hundreds of daff’s poking out everywhere on the banks and front lawn and the robins and redwing blackbirds have returned. So I know I will soon be able to work in the earth, plant the seeds and watch them grow. Sit on the porch and feel the sun on my face, ahh sweet Spring – welcome.
“Spring has sprung; how about some dung?” Years ago when I was working in a bank’s commercial real estate lending department, I sent off a little note to one of our customers, who I happened to know had a polo pony farm in Virginia Beach. Thinking of all that free manure got my juices flowing, and when he received my note that started off with that sentence, he called my boss and said “Whatever you are paying her, it’s not enough!”. He invited me to come out to the farm and shovel to my heart’s content.
This spring has found me out in the backyard early mornings, searching for signs of shoots popping through the earth and offering up silent prayers of gratitude for yet another season of rebirth. After a few days worth of ripping overgrown ivy and other misplaced growing things, I am hearing from muscles unhappy to have been “pulled” out of retirement! As soon as they get with the program, I will be back at it, because the BEST thing about gardening is that we are never finished! Hugs and good luck to all!
Unfortunatly, spring has NOT sprung her in Utah! Our ski resorts got 165 inches of snow over the last week. We are all wanting to get our gardens planted and have a nice warm Easter Egg hunt!
We do have some beautiful daffilols that are tryig so hard to keep their heads up and bring us cheer!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas with us. I found a link to your blog on my new favorite blog, A Year From Oak Cottage. What amazing women you are!
I live in Iowa and we have not seen Spring. I am ready but today we are expecting 2-3 inches of snow.
It’s starting to feel like spring here in Pa. and I love it! We’ll be starting a veggie garden soon and I can’t wait! I just love it that aprons are coming back into the kitchen!
[…] Susan over at Not Quite June Cleaver has the best giveaways!! I’ve never had the pleasure of winning one, but it sure is nice to try. She has one going on right now so head on over and check out the details. […]
What Fun! Spring is finally coming to us here in New England (although there is still the chance for frost in April). But the daffodils are up and blooming in my yard and so is my pussywillow tree. I have heard the Spring Peeper frogs in the evening already too and that is a good sign. My herbs are starting to poke their littles heads out of the ground and I am anxiously waiting for my favorite spring flower, the wild violets, to bloom. I’ve also gotten the onions and peas planted this weekend too. Spring….a wonderful time!
Posted about your giveaway at my blog too.

Hi Susan,
Spring has finally made it to my part of the country! It’s beautiful, everything is greening up and the little leaves are starting to come out . The trees have that green haze that I love to see. I seem to have more energy during the Spring I think it’s because there is more light. I like winter but sometimes it seems to drag on so I am grateful for the beautiful signs of new life and the warmer weather coming.

Spring is a time of freshness, new life and renewal of color after winter. I love watching seedlings sprout in anticipation of the produce that follows. I love raising chicks with the new season. It’s nice to be outside in the warm fresh air.
I blogged about your giveaway.
Hi! I came over by way of Sue’s blog at Country Pleasures. I’m looking forward to Spring really getting started here in the ‘big harsh’ city. We’ve had some weather issues lately. I live in a tiny apartment in Baltimore, MD as it’s all I can afford on my salary, but I’ve lived here 30 years so that’s saying something.
My blog is address is: http://www.harborhon.blogspot.com
And as I always say, ‘Come Join The Fun at Harbor Hon.’ *Smile*
I just got a new digital camera and have been busy taking pictures of things growing, building facades, and unusual things I see around the city. Hope you can stop by sometime.
Have a great weekend and thanks for hostessing this great ‘green’ giveaway. xxoo
Spring has sprung in Texas. I have planted my tomato plants and can hardly wait for homegrown tomatoes this summer!!
love spring because everything is in new growth..kids are smiling, birds are out chirping and I don’t have to scrap ice off my window.
send to some friends – nice site
Spring!….Here in Northern Illinois spring is teasing us. My snowdrops & daffodils have poked up their heads but as I speak snow is falling on them. We are under a winter storm advisory. Just doesn’t seem fair. I could sure use some of your pretties here at my house to “keep spring” in my heart even if I can’t seem to see it out the window.
Laura
I don’t know if Spring will ever get here! When it does it is bringing the packing of boxes since we will be moving soon, and also that we just found out we are expecting baby #3! I love Spring and have never been more tired of a winter than I am of this one……come on Spring!!!
Hi there! Apron Strings sent me over 🙂
What do I like about Spring…….. everything. And I live in the south, so we don’t have very long winters. But they are long enough for me 😀
Jocelyn

Oh – spring – I can hardly wait. We’ve been stuck in the cold, drizzly winter of the PNW but finally today it was over 65 – sunny and the daffodils were dancing and swaying – we took our grandsons to the park and they had a fine time – and we took a picnic. The flowering trees are just beginning to show some color – it won’t be long now – and it is supposed to be this warm for the next two days – yipppeeeee for spring.
After reading all the comments, I realize how much we all have in common. I really can’t think of an “original” idea.
So, I join everyone in enjoying the warmth, the freshness, the new beginnings, especially in the garden. Each day on our daily walks, we see new flowers, new leaves and sprouts and smell the lovely fragrances of new mown lawn, and the heavenly equally delicious fragrances of lilac, orange and lemon blossoms, wisteria, hyacinth and on and on. I can’t pick a favorite. And each day, I gauge the new growth on our vegetable plants…CAN’T wait for a great tomato. Happy Spring everyone !
Wow! All around us the dogwoods are in bloom! It’s gorgeous. I’m itching to start planting flowers and the veggie garden but here in central NC we wait until after Tax Day for the final frost to pass. We have frost predicted for this coming Thursday.
This Spring I have already started my own blog – http://sewinstitches.blogspot.com/ (I need a tutorial on how to post your button!)
And I have a meeting to show my creations – aprons, hot pads, and tote bags – at a local store. Yippee!! Hopefully I can sell a few.
Hubby and I went to Alabama the week of March 28th for my grandsons 2nd birthday and they were well into Spring there! Today I talked with my sister-in-law and they were having 41 degree temps with a chance of snow flurries! Here in North Carolina spring is trying to show its face but we are expecting the same cold weather here by mid-week as Alabama is having now.
I LOVE spring and winter! I am hot natured so I love the cool temps, they make me the happiest!
I love springtime the best because it is a time of rebirth! Everything comes to life and the birds return to serenade us while we sit on the porch in the early morning! That is my favorite time of the day during springtime. I sit out in the rocking chair or swing, eat my breakfast, and the birds sing to me. They can get quiet loud and that makes it even more beautiful! We have a grove of maple trees around our house that my hubby’s grandmother planted almost 50 years ago so they have plenty of nesting places on our farm! So we are never without birds! It is almost like a bird sanctuary here!
My hubby loves flower gardens and has built 10 gardens in our yard and around the house! with more to come! Several flowers are coming along and sprouting but some of our butterfly bushes didn’t make it through the winter. Looks like a trip to the nursery is in store because our many butterflies need their bushes!
Voles eat our tulip bulbs every year but we have one little pink and yellow tulip that made its way through the soil and is standing proudly all by itself! Of course we have tons of daffodils and buttercups blooming! I always thought they were the same thing but hubby has shown me the error of my ways. We also have some Astilbes blooming too! I am afraid the cold weather later this week may get them but I hope not!
Well, I better hush and let someone else have some room! I could go on and on about hubbys flowers!
Happy Spring!!
My name is Linda but when my kids were in high school the kids all called me Lindanuts cuz I could be kind of zany. It must be true cuz they all hung out here and the name stuck to me.
We are small town midwesterners and love our somewhat rural life. We garden and can the produce, as well as give to our neighbors and friends.
We have 4 children-2 girls and 2 boys, though they can hardly be called boys or girls anymore. The oldest will be 40 in June and the youngest will be 32 later this month. They have given us 9 wonderful grandchildren-6 girls and 3 boys. Sadly, they live in a variety of places and big family get-togethers are rare. I’ve just come home from a week long visit to the youngest’s in Colorado Springs.
I love to craft. My favorite is embroidery, followed closely but repurposing items found in thrift stores and Goodwills. I love flea markets, yard/garage sales, and auctions. I collect so many things, it’s almost crazy. What can I say? I find many things attractive, nostalgic, meaningful….
I love cooking and cookbooks. I have a recipe blog.
http://parkersgeneral.blogspot.com
From there, you can find my blog og collectibles and things I love.
I have collected some aprons and I have a pattern for a bibtop apron that I hope to make someday.
I love the pattern on the green fabric. I have been recycling for years, making my own cleaners and of course, using the enviromental bags for all shopping.
Please enter my name in this giveaway and visit my blogs. You just may enjoy yourself!
Spring is ALMOST here in northern Maine. We are expecting rain all week, so the rest of the snow should go! We had a foot of snow last Monday. Snowmobilers were still out on the trails till SAturday….don’t think they can go anywhere anymore. I can’t wait to use my clothes line…that’s the BEST and FIRST thing of spring I look forward to! I’ve gotten in the mood for spring cleaning and have washed all the curtains and windows on the main floor so far. Brushing cobwebs away…daunting task in this 100 year old house! Tootles for now. Oh and Green is my favorite color!
That’s an adorable fabric, I see why you love it! Spring brought us some beautiful weather last week, although it’s rainy and cold this week. But I’ve been spending a lot of time cleaning stuff out and organizing. I’ll get to the cleaning soon. Spring has also brought some great crafty inspiration as well.
Spring has not quite sprung here in Illinois but I do have daffodils coming up!
Great giveaway! Please enter me!
I love the green of Spring. It is so unique and alive! I watch out my window as buds start to appear on the trees. Everything is brown…then the little green leaves unfurl from the buds and magically (it seems like overnight!) they create a beautiful green canopy to shade the forest floor. Soon the flowers will start to create a new masterpiece that changes daily as they paint my garden. I watch the hummingbirds flutter from bloom to bloom looking for the sweetest nectars. I just love Spring and am watching closely for it’s magic to start here!
Come visit me at

That apron fabric is so pretty. We’re in the northeast now, after years of living in the south, so I’m so glad to see spring arrive. I love when the leaves come out on the trees and the grass turns green and everything is as green as can be. I love the first crocus blooms and the first time I’m brave enough to go outside barefoot for the season.

I’ve spread the love here: http://timanderin.wordpress.com/2009/04/07/not-quite-june-cleaver/
I’m enjoying fleeting spring weather here in Seattle. The last 4 days have been lovely – but there is rumor that the rain will be back tomorrow. I think maybe the weather changed to help us welcome Griffey back at the start of this baseball season. Also enjoying all the cherry blossoms.
Well of course I would love to enter your giveaway.
I am a big apron lover and collector.
Spring has got to be one of the nicest times of the year. I love when all the flowers start to bloom and sitting outside becomes possilbe once again. The days are getting longer and the weather is almost always perfect, not to hot but not to cold.
The birds are singing again and little baby birds are popping up all over.
Spring is a romantic time of the year.
I’ve been a follower of your blog for a long time. Though I don’t always leave messages I do read your blog. I have a blog too and hope you stop by and read mine too.
Hugs,
Joanne
what a sweet giveaway! the green fabric is very “springy”. I love this time of year, getting the patio ready for summer dinners and of course pie baking! my favorite is blueberry but there are not many that I don’t like. Pop on over for my 100th post give-away!
How fun to see different parts of the prize over the week. I will definitely be popping back in to see what is added. The apron fabric is sweet. I have just started wearing aprons and love them! They make me feel feminine in my house full of boys!
Green! How fun! That’s my favorite color. 😉 I have just started wearing aprons~ I got one as a Christmas gift and I love it! My gran’s always wore aprons. And I love all things vintage! :-)) Thanks for welcoming spring in such a fun way!
Spring here in Arizona goes quickly, so I try to enjoy every single second of it. Orange blossoms, freshly cut grass, cool temps, but not too cool, sunshine…my favorite parts of Spring. Great giveaway! I posted about it on my family blog. I also have another blog with a great group of girls called The Secret Stitch Club. We love aprons. No, I said that wrong. We L-O-V-E aprons! There, that’s better. Here is our blog: http://secretstitchclub.blogspot.com/ You were one of our inspirations when starting to sew. So thanks! (Does flattery get you any extra entries? Hee hee)
I live in Central Florida I couldn’t wait for Spring this year so I could plant a garden. My grandkids think it’s really cool tht we have corn growing in the back yard, and they can’t wait to eat it…
I love green–it’s my favorite color! Spring here is white–lots of snow still on the ground (and deck and roof and…) The temp is 20 degrees–that is below freezing!!
spring is just plain fun. i have a list of things i am going to do this year that did not get done last year or even any year before. i love fresh spring mornings and the longer afternoons into evenings. seeing plants come back from what i thought was the dead zone and bloom bigger than anything. i have tried planting a few more veggies this year. i also want to cook better this year. i am also loving all the creatures visiting my yard…birds, doves, lizards, bees, humming birds, butterflies, dragonflies, frog. i am a bit sad as i think this will be the last spring i will spend with my dear sweet cat, rockie. he is 14 years old and his arthritis is setting in hard. when do you decide this is the day you say goodbye to a good friend who has been there for your thru alot of lifes tough times. he always has an ear to scratch and a tummy to rub, he helped me thru some rough spots and i will miss him.
thank you for the chance to win so many fun gifts
marianne 🙂
I adore spring. My children can play outside, the weather is (usually) warmer and there is promise of new growth. I love the warmth after the long, cold winter and the green that is everywhere. I love getting in the dirt and starting our garden also. We just bought our house last year, so we have a lot of landscaping to do, and i love that I get to start doing it in the spring. Little toes in the mud, my hands in the dirt, working outside with my family…Spring is my favorite by far.
Spring? We had 3 inches of snow yesterday and the sheep are NOT happy! We sheared Saturday on the ONLY dry day of the week and the sheep thought it all a cruel joke. Today was a bit warmer, some of the snow melted and the sheep are happier, mainly because they were able to graze and I fed them sweet alfalfa hay and whole corn.
My work apron got plenty of use last Saturday -smile-.
My birthday is this Saturday and my plans are to enjoy myself.
Bloom where you’re planted and wear your prettiest apron.
Hi, We adopted a rescue puppy in the fall and with Spring, we can take her out in the fresh air and sunshine! The
daffodils and tulips are in full bloom and sprouts of green are popping up everywhere in my flower garden. I love your work and would love to be entered in your Green Spring
Giveaway Drawing. Many thanks…..Cindi
Well, Susan, I will be posting about this Friday so watch for it! Spring has yet to hit SW Missouri. It snowed on Monday. What is with that? We had some sun today, but it is still cold. Ugh! I have bulbs coming up by the kitchen door, but sense we were not here last year, I have no clue as to what they are! I will be surprised. Now, if I could just keep them alive. ~Kelly

Hi Susan,
Great blog. I love everything about the spring besides the nights I still have to cut up my heat. In my neighborhood – Spring brings the beautiful colorful trees in whites, pinks and yellows that I love to see until the green leaves come. Also spring gives me a spirit to start outside fun. I have been working on my yard the last couple springs.
Hi, My name is Elaine and I am a quilter/quilt shop owner and love to eat! Spring has always been special to me. That first buttercup, newly green fields, blankets of dew in the early morning. The striking red colors of the daddy cardinals, the pure blue of the blue birds and the funny woodpeckers arriving to dine ala bird feeders in my yard. The tulip trees budding out, baby animals cavorting in the fields like wild banshees…everything about spring is special. I would like to invite you over to my blog for a giveaway. Thank you for yours. Best regards, Elaine
(I invite you to pass on the info for my giveaway.)

Hi I would love to join in on your fabulous giveaway. I am in Australia and have been sewing most of my life and have for the last 10 years or more been into patchwork and quilting and stitcheries and anything that can be sewn. I used to be a fanatic of Folk Art and Decorative Painting but now the sewing has taken over. I will be putting the cute picture up on my blog so pop on over and have a look 🙂 Thanks
Ohh, I LOVE spring!! Beatiful birds make their way into my yard, perennial bulbs start peeking through the dirt, the grass turns green, I’m starting my veggie plants, and this year, a new baby this spring (probably next week!) – what more can a girl ask for???
Rebecca
Spring still has not sprung up here in northwestern Minnesota. It’s either been floods from melting snow or blizzards bringing more snow. URG. I’m dying to get in my garden and see if I can actually get tomatoes to grow in it this year! You see, I don’t exactly have the greenest thumb but I try and every year I get a little better so I can’t complain too much. Until the weather warms up, I’m left to figure out my new sewing machine and learn to sew some cool new stuff! Wish me luck!
Hi! I bloghopped over here from Summer Sadie’s blog! I love aprons and I love to bake and make cakes and decorate them. Piped buttercream frosting is my favorite way to decorate cakes. I think fondant is cute, but it just doesn’t do it for me, LOL! I also tat (make handmade lace). As a matter of fact, my blog is all about tatting! You can visit my blog by either clicking on my name or copying and pasting this link into your browser window:

Hi
I bloghopped from Oak Cottage…..Spring is in the air in England – I drove in the country saw a wind turbine, a tractor ploughing a field and daffodils lining the road and felt rejuvenated!!
Spring means I can really get down to accesorising the home with greens – I want to banish the reds I have at the moment and freshen up
